IPortent Divinator™ operation is based on Data Block Caching and Compression, an intelligent caching / compression technology that works at data's most fundamental level. This unique and innovative technology recognizes repetitive bit streams in real time at high rates, and then reduces the amount of repetitive data transferred across high-cost links.

First, a Divinator is installed at both ends of a high cost line. Then it:

• Examines the outgoing data stream and identifies reoccurring data blocks
• Compresses reoccurring data blocks to streamline transport
• Sends the compressed data stream to the receiving Divinator at the ISP location
• Decompresses the data stream by replacing it with the original data blocks from cache
