Management The IPortent management team is comprised of seasoned executives with proven experience of successfully developing and marketing mission-critical networking solutions. Barak Avitbul - CEO, Founder Mr. Avitbul has over twelve years of experience in entrepreneurship and in product and business development. Over the last years Mr. Avitbul founded and led few successful Internet and software companies. Recently, Mr. Avitbul founded Key2Peer, a provider of anti-piracy and promotional services for the P2P market and led the company to net profit of few million dollars in less than 12 months from its inception. Prior to founding IPortent, Mr. Avitbul served as a consultant for several premier technology companies in diverse areas among them Rosetta Genomics (NASDAQ:ROSG) where he served as the head of algorithm research. Prior to that, Mr. Avitbul was founder and CEO of Minute Technologies – an Internet security company providing unique solutions for security threats in the SOHO Market. Prior to founding Minute, Mr. Avitbul was founder and CEO of CommonSearch Inc., a provider of innovative Internet search optimization solutions. Prior to founding CommonSearch, Mr. Avitbul was Director of R&D at iMDsoft and played an instrumental role in creating and launching successful products in the health care clinical information management market. Mr. Avitbul holds an L.L.B in law and BS. in computer science, both from Tel Aviv University. David Schwartz- Managing Director, ISP Division Mr. Schwartz brings to IPortent extensive experience as an entrepreneur and proven abilities in designing and executing marketing plans. Before joining IPortent Mr. Schwartz founded Discover Media Group, a provider of an innovative music search engine; Mr. Schwartz was also a Director of Strategic Sales at Aladdin (NASDAQ:ALDN); Founder of PeerApp Technologies; and vice President of marketing at WebMap Technologies. David holds an LLB from the Hebrew university in Jerusalem. He lectured on issues related to marketing and entrepreneurship in the hi-tech industry in Haifa University and in the Hebrew university MBA program Hayim Shaul - CTO, Founder Mr. Shaul has over ten years of experience in spearheading development of complex engineering projects. Mr. Shaul is an expert mathematician, and software engineer as well as inventor of several patents related to data acceleration and optimization. Prior to founding IPortent, Mr. Shaul was Chief Algorithmic Researcher at Expand Networks, where he developed the company's algorithms for compression, and drop recovery. Mr. Shaul also served as the CTO of DjinnyTech - a company that offered a client-side CPU-specific optimization solution. Mr. Shaul started his career as a software engineer and project manager in an elite intelligence unit of the IDF incorporating knowledge and practice of mathematics, engineering and software. Mr. Shaul holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science and M.Sc. (Cum Laude) in Computer Science, both from Tel Aviv University. Pini Smotny – VP Business Development, Founder Pini Smotny has a BSc from Bar Ilan University and an MBA from Tel Aviv University, combined with over six years’ management and product development experience in a hi-tech environment. |
